St. Joseph: Mill Stream |
Probably the best course in the St. Cloud area! Mill Stream has real water hazards, several elevation changes, open and wooded holes some short, medium and long holes; it has everything!
If you wish to play the whole course I suggest you start at hole #6 for less walking [tee off is by horseshoe pits]. Hole #1 is right by hole #18 and Hole #5 is on the opposite side of the parking lot as Hole #6. If you are playing with young children you might choose to play hole #1 - #5 once or twice as they are open holes with no water or brush hazards.
The poison ivy is mostly gone but is more "wild" than Riverside or Calvary.
Pictures were taken on a hot day after a drought, the course is normally much greener.
Tee Pads: Concrete [state of the art! - 1 per hole
Holes: 18 Mach 3 - Short: 4 Medium: 10 Long: 4
Rain or flood layout:
Early in the year or after much rain a few holes might be quite wet. Fortunately the course is built to have a dry 12 hole layout with no long walks between the holes!!! Play #1 - #7, walk past #8 tee pad to #10, Skip #11 and play #12 & #13, Play #17 and #18.
For 18 holes play the 12 hole layout, then play #1 - #5 again and then finish by playing #1 tee pad to the putting basket.
Course Established: 1999
Directions:
From St. Cloud: Take Division West out of town [pass Midtown Coffee & Crossroads], go about 10 miles to St. Joe, go about 1 mile pass stoplight with Super America. Course is in the Lions Park named Mill Stream. Take 1st entrance before ball park.
From the cities: I-94 to St. Joseph exit, left at St. Benedict College, go three blocks to Hwy 75, turn left two blocks, course is on right.
